The Crooning Philospher
Toronto, Ontario
Soulish is the project of singer, songwriter and guitarist Cole Solish, blending atmospheric indie rock, psychedelic grooves and intimate songwriting.
Drawing from artists like Phish, Bon Iver, Wilco, Tame Impala, Vampire Weekend and Bob Dylan, Soulish finds a space between the sincere and the strange, writing songs that can be emotionally direct without taking themselves too seriously.
The project is equally at home in a quiet guitar-driven song or a loose, full-band psychedelic jam.
The Live Band
Soulish is a five-piece live band featuring:
Cole Solish - vocals, guitar
Adam Vilk - lead guitar
Brent Redman - bass
Daniel Oelbaum - keys
Hector Alonso - drums
Live, the songs expand beyond their recordings through layered guitars, keys, groove and improvisation. The result is a set that can move from intimate songwriting to something much louder and more unpredictable.

The Idea
Soulish lives somewhere between a singer-songwriter, a rock band and a guy who just really likes a good guitar solo.
The songs are personal without feeling precious. They draw on everyday experiences, including relationships, growing older and getting lost in your own head, to uncover something playful, strange or beautiful.
It's music for overthinking things, then turning the volume up.
